Critical Infrastructure Intelligence Platform
An educational research project — not a commercial product.
What it is
A vendor-neutral, educational knowledge base exploring data center controls and critical infrastructure. It brings together documentation, firmware and software history, compatibility data, security advisories, and lifecycle information from major industrial automation manufacturers into a single, organized, evidence-backed reference — built to study and demonstrate what a rigorous, source-traceable approach to this information could look like.
Rather than relying on a chatbot's memory or guesswork, the project is built on a foundation of verified source documents. Every answer traces back to its original source, exact revision, and specific passage or table — so anyone reviewing it knows where it came from and how much confidence it deserves.
What it covers
- PLCs — programmable logic controllers, their hardware, firmware, and engineering tools.
- BMS/BAS — building management and automation systems, HVAC, cooling, and environmental monitoring.
- EPMS — electrical power monitoring, meters, protection relays, and switchgear.
- SCADA/HMI — operator interfaces, alarms, and historians.
- DCIM — data center infrastructure management systems.
- Firmware and software release history, compatibility, and support status.
- Communication protocols used across these systems.
- Security advisories and vulnerabilities affecting specific products and versions.
- Product lifecycle status — from introduction through end of support and replacement.
Initial focus: Schneider Electric, Siemens, Rockwell Automation, and ABB, with room to expand to additional vendors over time.
What it does
Explores how engineers, controls specialists, and researchers could get reliable, sourced answers to practical questions such as:
- Which manual or document applies to this exact product model and hardware revision?
- What firmware or software versions are compatible with each other?
- What changed between two versions of the same document?
- Which security advisories affect a specific product or version?
- Is a product still supported, or has it reached end of life?
- What does the evidence say — and what remains unknown?
Answers come with citations to the original source material, and the project is explicit about uncertainty: when evidence is missing or conflicting, it says so rather than guessing.
What it is not
This is strictly an educational and research exercise — not a product, service, or business. It does not connect to, control, or modify any live operational equipment. It cannot write to PLCs, change settings, deploy firmware, or interact with control systems in any way. It is not for sale, and there are no plans to commercialize it. Any future work involving live facility data would be read-only and separately authorized.
Who it's for
Written for anyone curious about how industrial control system knowledge could be organized and verified — engineers, controls specialists, integrators, commissioning teams, reliability and asset management teams, and OT security personnel working in data centers and critical infrastructure environments, as well as students and researchers studying the space.
