Common questions
- How do I add a vehicle?
- On the home screen tap + Add, then enter the year, make and model — or type the VIN and let GarageDue look it up.
- Where is my data stored?
- On your iPhone. If you choose a backup folder (for example in iCloud Drive), GarageDue also copies your data there. We never receive it.
- How do I back up and restore?
- Open Backup & restore from the home screen and pick a folder. Backups run automatically after that. To restore on a new phone, install GarageDue and choose the same folder during setup. GarageDue finds your backup and offers to replace the phone's data with it.
- How do I move to a new phone?
- Make sure your latest backup finished, install GarageDue on the new phone, and choose the same backup folder during setup.
- Does receipt scanning upload my receipts?
- No. Scanning and text reading happen on your iPhone. The scanned receipt is stored with the vehicle record and saved to your backup folder.
- How do I delete my data?
-
- A service record, fuel entry or note: open it and choose delete.
- A vehicle: open it and tap Remove this vehicle, then choose to archive it (hidden but kept) or delete it permanently.
- A whole garage: on the home screen, choose Delete this garage. This permanently removes its vehicles, records, receipts and photos from your iPhone and from your backup folder.
- Everything: delete each garage, then delete the app. Anything left in your backup folder can be deleted from the Files app.
- Why do I see a number on the app icon?
- It is the count of vehicles with overdue or critical items. It is calculated on your phone.
- Are inspection and emissions rules always right?
- They are a general guide for reminders. Rules change, so please confirm with your state's DMV or inspection program.
- Can I share a garage with family?
- Not in this version. Each phone keeps its own records.
- Is there an Android version?
- Not at this time. GarageDue is for iPhone.
